About us
QED is very passionate about safety of workers within South Africa. Prior to 2000 unskilled workers were overworked and underappreciated by their employers. They were expected to work long hours for minimum wages, often in unfavourable conditions.
QED has made it a primary concern to put the safety of all clients and their employees first.
Core Competencies valued by QED are those of flexibility, competitive pricing strategies and quality of training
.
QED’s values include loyalty, open communication and passion for safety. All employees are hired on the basis of the alignment with their values in accordance with the values of QED.
History
Starting in 2004, QED is a business offering training to all industries which are affected by the Occupational Health and Safety Act. To date all training has been done at our client’s premises with great success. We also provide off-site training for certain courses.
Due to the restructuring of the management in October 2011, we are planning on expanding the business to cater for people who have been adversely affected by the economic climate in South Africa. By offering private training courses to people who are currently unemployed, we intend to give them a skill, improving their opportunity of employment.
Mission
Firstly, our mission is to provide the highest quality of training and skills development at affordable prices to local communities. Customization to suit client needs is a primary concern for QED.
Our courses will all be aligned to the qualifying criteria of the NQF/SAQA, ensuring our learners derive maximum benefits from the training provided.
Secondly, to provide smaller companies with expert advice on their safety systems, this will assist them in securing contracts.
Accreditation
QED is accredited through Transport Education Training Authority (TETA: Our Primary ETQA). We are also currently looking at expaning the courses we provide through associating ourselves with other Seta's.
